I WAS A VALLEY

I was a valley
'cause your water let me grow
now I'm a dry ravine
where before the sea could wind
a valley
'cause you let me drink my fill
now I'm a bed of sand
where before the sea could wind
a dry ravine, without the water
a bed of sand, feeling so thirsty
when you passed through me
honey you left your salt behind

I was a sun
'cause your soul could let me shine
but I turned the sky
and you thought the day had lied
a sun
'cause your heart set me afire
but I turned the sky
and you think the day has lied
turned the sky into the night
the red moon makes me remember
how your body like a flower opens wide
